Online Poker Rooms :: Seven Card Stud Tips

Tips act as mere guidelines for the player playing the game of 7-card stud. As we have already discussed earlier in the 7-card stud rules page, the players skill set is what actually makes the game. Below mentioned are a few rules which when combined with skills can yield highly favourable results.

• Be patient. Along with high skill sets, one also needs a lot of patience in this game.

• If you notice the cards you need to improve your hands in the opponents hand, just consider those cards as dead.

• In a single suit there are 13 cards. A player needs 5 cards to make a flush, but if the card you need is with your opponent there is no chance of it being dealt to you, however if you don't see them then there is still a possibility of you to receive those cards.

• A “Big Pair” is always worth betting on. But, if the other player is betting aggressively on a good hand, it may not be advisable to bet on it.

• Fifth Street is a make or break point in the game. In this stage the bet amount doubles after each round. To avoid losses, make sure you have a decent enough hand that can help you win at the end of the game.

• If the other players exposed hand is superior than your entire hand, do not waste your time betting. It is better and makes more sense to fold up.

• If you are competing for a straight, it is necessary to see whether you can see the card you need. If the other player displays that card, then you have a chance of adjusting your strategy.

• Fold when necessary. As said earlier, this game requires a lot of patience and it does not make any sense to continue betting with a losing hand and lose all your money.
